Forge 4-Digit Heavy Duty TSA Approved Lock for Travel & Gym, Black Pack

This lock is stronger, heavier and more rugged than typical travel locks that feel fragile and are easy to pop off. It also has the added benefit of being 4-digits vs 3-digits. As others note however, this added security does come with some limitations when wanting to use it on a regular carry-on bag, namely-- it does not fit a conventional zipper lock hole (the hole between the two zippers when they are pulled together where a travel lock is typically located—see pic below) on travel back packs or carry on bag. As advertised it is for larger lock holes found on toolboxes. If you are like me and want to use it on your carry-on bag, what worked for me was looping it through the two larger holes on each zipper (the holes at the end of the zipper)--works fine and is the strongest travel lock I have ever found. You may want to check the zipper hole diameter and the measurements from the manufacturer’s diagram which is one of the embedded photos in the Amazon listing)

Use these any time I travel with firearms or other gear. I Typically fly out of Atlanta and have never had an issue. They meet the standards required by TSA. I have used these locks for over 10 different round trips involving conventions/conferences and training events. Very easy to quickly open if asked by the airline kiosk or TSA. I have had zero problems with both the pelican case you see in the photos and a rifle length pelican case when I don't need as much gear or my wife is not participating in the event. Great locks!

It was easy to set the lock combination and it has been working perfectly. I would definitely recommend this lock. It's been a great lock for my needs at a great price point.

I was looking for a fairly normal little luggage lock to match the others I own. This one seems well made, but it is about the same size as the lock I use to lock my tool shed. This photo compares it to another lock (the red one) I own that I also consider to be about twice as heavy as needed to lock my luggage. I have some others that I like better. If I was locking a steamer trunk, this one would be about right for me.

This lock is thick and bright. It's kinda heavy but if you're using it for travel it gives you a little more of piece of mind that none of your things will go missing. I would recommend this. Setting the new combination was easy and the directions were easy to follow

These locks are pretty well built for what they are. TSA locks are not all that secure just because keys are so easy to get. These lock tight and can��t be super easily picked or yanked open. The shackle only goes about 1/4�� into a sleeve on top of the lock so it could still be broken into pretty easily. For the intended purpose though, you could do a lot worse and there is not much point getting a super secure lock that you can buy a key for on eBay.

Great! Used at DCA for 3 large Pelican crates. Opened indicator was not popped after retrieval. Very strong combination lock. Obviously easily bypassed with the universal key you can also buy on this site.

For a small good quality lock. Easy to use this is the one.

Excellent TSA approved lock. More robust than most. However a determined thief could easily break the lock with a hammer. Obviously not for security but more to keep suitcase closed while in transit and prevent the casual thief looking to open bag as opposed to taking the bag and run

I bought these because of their four digit code, since most have only three digits. The locks are good, and they claim the shackles are hardened. My complaint is that they are locked by a small tab pressed into the shackle, rather than a cut notch and pawl. However, unless someone attacks the lock with some serious leverage, I don't suppose this is a real issue.

Super reliable and sturdy. Very easy to program a lock code with clear instructions. Price is right - a great value. No padlock is going to stop a determined burglar, but as far as pad locks go, these are excellent.

I purchased these locks for a toolbox that often accompanies me on work trips. They have held up well on the dozen or so plane rides they have been on so far. Other coworkers have now purchased them also.
